Some big room at Georgia Tech with a curved staircase. I had just assayed that year to dance with girls--more to life than just head-bobbin' along the wall, and it was Thermos that first poured the courage-oil onto my needy joints.

I just remember hours of elbows and hips and skank and some pretty girls. Is it my imagination there was makeup puddled on the the stage floor?

Then, and the funny thing, this is a happy memory-- on a break, Cheryl Doreen Cochran, in full cowgirl effect, found a reason, from the center of the floor, to go loud on boyfriend Dan Baird and threaten ass whippin' doom, which she continued as Dan slunk out of the room and she followed, along with the crowd's attentive guffaws like this was added entertainment value, and they both disappeared. These guys were my ride home. Rather than being bummed, I remember a happy glow that I had finally met some interesting people.

The band started up again, I danced and got home,
Doreen apologized to Dan all dovey for a week, and here most of us are today, still alive, minus the ingested combustibles, and glad enough to be. (Peace on those whose bodies can't be here anymore.)

To all you fellows on the stage, thanks for the love, rythm oil, skank, smells, and for
helping one more little narrow-assed boy learn that the world is definately not black and white--it's colored in so many ways.

There was a post-Theremos Thermos recitation at, could it have been Bullfrog Springers in Savannah, in reference to one winsome scuppernong. All Cellophaney and spikey. Pure delight.

From where I am, now, it was all good. Even the rough spots have a rosy glow from here. If you missed Halloween 2004 at Jake's, you missed a great time. I had a blast. I saw many familiar faces in the crowd, but I didn't get to speak to everybody. It was such a love-fest. Ick Driftwood, Romilar Wildwood, and Creeton Crestwood, made me feel at home and the incredible Blob Greasewood (the Q's Bob Elsey) did an unbelievable job on guitar. I only seriously mangled a few numbers and managed to remember most of the lyrics I was supposed to sing. Considering that we were on stage for over two hours, that's not too shabby.

I hope this page gets filled up with views of events, gigs, and general history of TG&CP. Onward beyond the threshold of embarrassment!
